Happening This Week:

Beloved parishioner Douglas Teegarden passed away last November. A service in his memory will be held on Friday, June 6th, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church. All are welcome to attend, please RSVP to Leslie if you plan to attend.

Next Week:

Our next concert is June 13th at 6:30pm, featuring the Bowery Trio. If you have not heard them, check out their website at www.bowerytrio.com. Comprised of Mark Allen Jr. (clarinet), Esther Seitz (cello), and Allison Wang (piano), the ensemble has performed across the U.S., including in New York City (where the trio formed), Chicago, Detroit, and South Texas. The ensemble recently made its international debut with the Cosmopolite Music Project at the invitation of the Uuden Musiikin Lokakuu festival in Oulu, Finland. Formed in 2019, Bowery Trio has quickly established itself as a rising star in both contemporary and classical chamber music.

Women’s Bible Study

Summer 2025

Book of James

We are excited for our annual Summer Women’s Bible Study at Christ Episcopal Church. Please join us for a 5-week study on Wednesday mornings from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. beginning July 9 and ending August 6, facilitated by Charlotte Tripplehorn, Elizabeth Klump and Bill Lupfer.

Our study will help us put our faith into action through studying the New Testament book of James, written by Jesus’ brother. Feel free to bring friends, relatives or summer visitors. No materials are needed.

Also mark your calendar for the end-of-study luncheon hosted by Charlotte Tripplehorn on Wednesday, August 13.

Let us know if you are interested in attending or have any questions. Please contact Elizabeth Klump at elizklump@gmail.com

Restore, Replenish, Rejoice! Campaign

I want to keep you abreast on the financial and stewardship front at Christ Church.

We have a generational shift happening in our stewardship. On the plus side, we have welcomed 33 new pledging individuals and families over the past three years, with good retention. However, on the negative side, a few significant pledgers have been lost due to moves, death, and transitions. These individuals account for over $130,000 in lost pledges, leading to a shortfall in our annual stewardship programs.

The shortfall in our 2025 Stewardship, combined with multiple unexpected church and rectory maintenance expenses and overdue building improvements have yielded: a) a budgeted $55,000 deficit for 2025 and b) a significant drawdown of our reserves (operating and capital).

To bolster our 2025 finances, the Vestry has launched a midyear Restore, Replenish, Rejoice! campaign. We seek to raise $150,000, which would both eliminate the budgeted 2025 deficit and help replenish our operating and capital

reserves. We have raised over $80,000 so far from Vestry members and a few other parishioners. We invite all parishioners who are able to support this midyear campaign to participate.

We aim to complete this effort within the next few weeks. Please let our parish administrator, Leslie Boyer (leslie@christchurchaspen.org) know if you are able

and feel called to support this midyear campaign; any support is greatly appreciated. Thank you for all you do to support Christ Church!

Gratefully, Eric Pelander, Senior Warden

Fellowship host policy change :

Instead of scheduling someone each week to provide goodies for coffee hour, we ask that you bring something to share.  Let’s say you were at an event on Friday or Saturday night and have left over cookies or other goodies, bring them to share on Sunday morning after the service you attended!
