Christ Episcopal Church in the Community

The Community

We are a small church, with a big heart for sharing God’s love with our community. To be an effective mission-shaped church that meets people where they are, and helps them to grow in their relationships with God, we strive to be creative in our ministry and our outreach.

Mason Jar Ministries serves people in powerful and practical ways, by providing a meal to families experiencing ill health or bereavement.

Feed My Sheep ministries are based in Glenwood Springs and provides a hand-up, rather than a hand-out for the Valley’s homeless. CEC is proud to support Feed My Sheep with an annual Outreach grant, as well as an annual food drive (June) and coat & camping supply drive (Spring). (http://www.feedmysheephomelessministry.org)

CEC Outreach Committee is a team of volunteers who are actively involved in serving our Valley. In addition, they review funding applications from local nonprofits, and allocate $30,000 annually to organizations whose missions are in alignment with our goals (avg. grant $500-$2000). Priority is given to organizations which engage volunteer support from our CEC congregation. Learn more here »

CEC is proud to provide the headquarters for Aspen’s Our Community Listens. CEC members Bob & Cynthia Chapman have generously gifted this course to our Valley. Participants say this fully-funded, 3-day Communication Skills Training course strengthens marriages and families, while also helping them to feel more connected to the community.
