Announcing the Summer Preacher Series
Leading up to the arrival of Christ Church’s new Priest in September, a series of guest preachers will be in residence throughout the summer.
The series includes preachers from across the country, bringing a variety of gifts and teachings to share at Christ Church.
The program is intended to kick-off a “Year of Renewal” as we embark on an exciting new chapter.
Join us for our Summer Preacher Series during Sunday Worship Service at 8:00 am & 10:00 am.
Hollis Wright

In recent years Hollis has been traveling the country with her husband in retirement. Originally from Hawaii, Hollis was the former rector of St. Matthew’s in Grand Junction, Colorado for over 10 years.

Washington D.C.
Eric is originally from Montgomery, Alabama. He published a memoir about his hometown titled Madison Park, A Place of Hope. Eric is an Executive Vice President at the Aspen Institute and a former member of the Chapter Board of the Washington National Cathedral.

Luke Jernagan

St. Louis, Missouri
Through CEC’s search process, Luke served as a invaluable facilitator in finding candidates and ultimately leading the Christ Church search committee to its exciting call of a new priest. Luke is the former rector of St. Peter’s in St. Louis. He and his wife, Hopie, and their children ski and spend summers in Montana.

Bill is our new priest and will join us full-time starting in September. Bill is the former Dean of the Cathedral in Portland, Oregon and Rector of Trinity Wall Street. He will be traveling here with his wife, Kimiko. Join us for your first Sunday Breakfast to welcome Bill.

Beth’s journey to priesthood started at St. Peter’s in Basalt and now she is the rector at Christ Church Portola Valley in California. Originally from Kansas City, Beth first visited the Roaring Fork Valley while on sabbatical in 2000.

After serving in parish ministry for 11 years, David is now studying for his Ph.D. in creative writing. A published poet and non-fiction writer, Dave loves the intersection of faith and art. He has four sons with his wife Carol and enjoys fly-fishing, cycling, and hiking.

Carl Walker
Vail, Colorado
The Rev. Dr. Carl Walker is a retired Lutheran Pastor who most recently served as Pastor of Mt. of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church at the Vail Interfaith Chapel. At that chapel Pastor Walker enjoyed a close relationship with the Episcopal congregation sometimes presiding at those services.

Wendy has served as the Priest-in-Charge at St. Peter’s in Basalt since January of 2020. She was ordained in the Diocese of Texas and has served family-sized churches since 2010. Wendy loves trout fishing, skiing, and gardening among many hobbies and interests.

Prior to joining the Snowmass Chapel staff, Charla worked as a writer/producer in broadcast news, as well as a parent educator. She serves as Associate Pastor and is currently working on her doctoral degree from Duke University Divinity School.
